2 Download Arctic permafrost file and open in Google Earth

 

Step 1

Use a Web browser to navigate to the “View NSIDC Data on Virtual Globes” page on the National Snow and Ice Data Center website.

Step 2

Scroll down the page to “Permafrost, Ground Ice.” Click on the “Glaciers and permafrost file for Google Earth” file. The file NSIDC_cryosphere.kml will be downloaded to your computer. Close the Web browser when the download is complete.
